Use Lightroom XMP Presets — Without Lightroom

Bought a preset pack but don't pay for Lightroom? Import the .xmp files here and apply them to your photos in the browser — free.

How it works

  1. Open OpticRaw and load a photo — JPEG, HEIC or RAW.
  2. In the Presets panel, click Import and pick your .xmp file(s).
  3. Hover to preview live, click to apply, then dial the Amount from 0–150%.
  4. Export a full-resolution JPEG — or paste the look onto a whole batch.

Real preset parsing, not screenshots

OpticRaw reads the actual develop parameters inside the XMP: tone curves point by point, the HSL mixer, color grading wheels, grain and more. Presets built on Adobe profiles with embedded 3D color lookup tables are decoded as well, so profile-based looks survive the trip.

Your presets stay yours

Imported presets are stored locally in your browser and never uploaded. They sit alongside the built-in free presets and film simulations, and you can save your own looks as presets too.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Lightroom presets without Lightroom?

Yes. Import the .xmp preset file into OpticRaw and apply it to any photo — no Adobe subscription or install required.

Which preset settings are supported?

The core develop settings: white balance, exposure, contrast, highlights/shadows, whites/blacks, vibrance/saturation, tone curves (including per-channel), HSL/color mixer, color grading, grain, vignette and B&W mixes. Embedded Look profiles with 3D color tables are decoded too.

How do I import a preset?

In the Presets panel click Import and choose your .xmp file (or a .cube LUT). It appears in your preset list, saved in the browser for next time.

Can I adjust how strong the preset is?

Yes — after applying, the Amount slider blends the preset from 0 to 150%, like Lightroom’s preset amount feature.

Do purchased presets work?

Presets you have bought or downloaded as .xmp files import the same way. Preset packs shipped as .lrtemplate (the pre-2018 format) need to be converted to .xmp first.
