What is a NEF file?
NEF is the RAW format produced by Nikon Z8, Z6 III, Zf, Z50, D850, D780 and other Z / D series cameras. NEF files preserve the full dynamic range of Nikon sensors — perfect for recovering skies and shadows that look clipped in the preview JPEG.
