Crop & Straighten Photos Online
Fix a crooked horizon, recompose to the rule of thirds, or crop for Instagram — free, in your browser, with no quality loss.
A proper crop tool
- Rule-of-thirds grid and darkened surroundings so you can judge the composition.
- Aspect presets: 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9, original, or free-form.
- Straighten slider (±45°) — the crop box auto-shrinks so you never get blank corners.
- 90° rotation both ways for portrait/landscape fixes.
- Per-photo memory: each photo in your filmstrip keeps its own crop.
Crop and edit in one place
Unlike single-purpose crop websites, OpticRaw is a full editor: after cropping you can grade colors, apply film presets, convert to black & white and export — without juggling multiple tools or re-uploading files anywhere.
Common crops for social media
Instagram feed: 1:1 or 4:5 · Stories/Reels & TikTok: 9:16 (crop 16:9 then rotate) · YouTube thumbnail: 16:9 · Facebook cover: free-form wide. Pick the preset, drag to position, export.
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. Cropping is non-destructive and the export renders from the original full-resolution image — pixels inside your crop are untouched.
Which aspect ratios are available?
Free-form, original ratio, 1:1 (Instagram), 4:5 (Instagram portrait), 3:2, 4:3 and 16:9 — or drag any custom shape.
Can I straighten a tilted horizon?
Yes. The straighten slider rotates up to ±45° with a live preview, and the crop automatically stays inside the photo, like Lightroom.
Can I undo a crop?
Anytime. Open the Crop tool again and press Reset Crop — the original framing comes back because the source image is never modified.
