Frequently asked questions

Is OpticRaw a real alternative to Lightroom?

For color editing, yes: it covers the core Develop tools — basic panel, tone curve, HSL mixer, color grading, black & white, masking and crop. It does not replace Lightroom’s catalog, healing or AI features.

Can I use my Lightroom presets?

Yes. OpticRaw imports Lightroom .xmp preset files directly, including tone curves, HSL adjustments, color grading, grain and black & white gray-mixer settings.

Does it work with RAW files like Lightroom?

Yes. OpticRaw decodes camera RAW formats (ARW, CR2, CR3, NEF, DNG, RAF, ORF, RW2 and more) right in the browser.

How much does it cost compared to Lightroom?

Lightroom requires a monthly subscription. OpticRaw is completely free.
