Download OpticRaw for Desktop

The same free Lightroom-style RAW editor, as a native app: faster RAW decoding, offline projects and automatic updates on macOS and Windows.

Checking latest version…

Why the desktop app

  • Native RAW decoding: LibRaw runs natively instead of WebAssembly — big files open noticeably faster.
  • Offline: edit anywhere, no connection needed.
  • Projects: photos and edits are stored on disk, not in browser storage.
  • Auto-update: signed over-the-air updates keep you on the latest version.

Prefer not to install anything?

The full editor also runs in your browser — same tools, nothing uploaded: Open OpticRaw Web.

Frequently asked questions

Is the desktop app free?

Yes. OpticRaw desktop is completely free, just like the web version. No account, no subscription.

What is different from the web version?

The desktop app decodes RAW files with native LibRaw (faster than WebAssembly), works fully offline, and stores projects locally. Editing tools are identical.

How do updates work?

The app checks for updates on launch. When a new signed version is available, a banner offers Install & Restart — one click and you are on the latest version.

Which systems are supported?

macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows 10/11 64-bit.
